Volunteer as a Chaperone!
O’Neill Sea Odyssey is seeking passionate volunteers to support our hands-on, ocean-going programs. Sail with students, gain professional training, connect with like-minded educators, and be part of a community dedicated to empowering the next generation of ocean stewards.

Volunteer requirements

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • The ability to communicate effectively in noisy and crowded environments
  • Experience working with groups of children
  • Must be willing and able to interact with multicultural and multilingual guests in a respectful and engaging manner
  • Must possess a welcoming, calm, and responsible demeanor
  • You have experience on the water and know how to move about a boat.
  • The ability to lift 15-20 lbs and walk on hard/uneven surfaces
  • You don’t get seasick!
  • A dedication to learning about the OSO program and ocean conservation
  • TB test, LiveScan, and mandated reporter training
