As a science teacher for 30 years, I support transportation scholarships because I know the value of students doing science in the field. Field trip transportation is often a significant barrier due to its expense. You can support our youth by funding a bus for a class!

OPPORTUNITY

…When I boarded the O’Neill catamaran in 4th grade, I remember learning how our trash ends up in the oceans and what whales eat. My OSO trip was fundamentally important for me. I loved being on the boat. I feel privileged to have taken part in the experience, and I believe that every kid should have the opportunity.

LEARNING

As an OSO Alumni, I am honored to take my students on the Sea Odyssey trip. Without the opportunity to build a personal connection, many students wouldn’t understand how their watershed influences Monterey Bay. OSO provides more than a trip; it is a life-changing journey opening hearts and minds to science, the environment, and the limitless possibilities for learning
