Did you know that trash from streets and schools can end up in the oceanâeven if you donât live near the beach? By organizing a cleanup at your school, neighborhood, watershed, or beach, you can help protect wildlife, reduce pollution, and keep your community beautiful.
đ§Œ Step 1: Choose Your Cleanup Spot
Pick a place that needs your helpâyour schoolyard, local park, nearby beach, or a spot in your neighborhood or watershed.
đ€ Step 2: Team Up with a Local Organization (Optional)
You can partner with awesome groups like Save Our Shores, Surfrider, or the Coastal Watershed Council to help plan and learn more about pollution.
đ§€ Step 3: Get Your Supplies Ready
Make a list and gather what you need:

Trash bags or buckets

Gloves

Hand sanitizer

First aid kit

Buckets or grabbers (optional)
đ Step 4: Sort & Track the Trash
Plan how youâll sort recyclables from regular trash.
Use a Trash Log to track what types of waste you collectâthis helps you see whatâs most common and where change is needed!
đą Step 5: Share What You Found
Present your results to your school or another class. Youâll help raise awareness and inspire others to care for the planet too!
â Step 6: Complete the SAP Google Form
Donât forget to fill out the Student Action Project Google Form to celebrate and share your impact!
