Schools that do not meet trip requirements will be notified in Summer 2025. Waitlisted schools will also receive updates at this time. Visit the Trip Planning page for more information.
Trip Selection Process
Please note that this is not a first-come, first-served application process.
To be eligible for an OSO field trip, you must meet all of the following criteria:

You are a teacher submitting an application on behalf of your school/class (parents/guardians are not permitted to submit applications or lead field trips).

Your school is located in Monterey, San Benito, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, or San Mateo County.

You are requesting a trip for a 4th, 5th, or 6th-grade class or a special education class.

If applicable, your school completed a Student Action Project in the previous academic year.
Priority Consideration: Applications from schools that serve a student population that is 50% or more socioeconomically disadvantaged (as indicated by the “Socioeconomically Disadvantaged” subgroup on the California School Dashboard) will be prioritized in the selection process.
As you plan your curriculum for the next school year, we encourage you to utilize the OSO teacher packet for a more in-depth educational experience. The OSO curriculum is also available at no cost from our website year-round!
