The 2024 Spring Edition

Spring and the month of May bring us many opportunities to gather and care for our environment.  On Saturday, May 11th at 9am, OSO will host a clean up at Seabright Beach as part of Santa Cruz County’s first annual clean-up event! We will walk the harbor beach path to the lighthouse jetty to pick up trash. Bring yourself, family, and friends. We’ll have the supplies.

If you can't make it Saturday, there are ample opportunities to care for your local environment every weekend. We are sharing these opportunities weekly through our social media channels so follow along!  When our community comes together we can do amazing things.

PROGRAM NEWS

The end of the school year is quickly approaching, and OSO is on track to serve 179 classes and over 4,400 students during the 2023-2024 school year! Not only are we reaching more students, with the support of our community, our hard work to close the environmental literacy gap is paying off. During the 2022-2023 school year, we saw a 20% increase in student environmental awareness, regardless of school demographics or income levels. This brings the total number of students served since our the start of the OSO program to over 125,000!
